What science uncovers about nature should amaze us and fill us with even greater wonder at the magnificent expression of life in all its varied forms.   • Folks interested in learning about and working with animal totems as a spiritual practice.

  • Folks who want to deep their relationship with and understanding of the natural world.

  WHAT:
  A 10 week study, exploring the book Animal Speak: The Spiritual & Magickal Powers of Creatures Great and Small by Ted Andrews. Students will practice skills connected to “inner-knowing”, work with the symbology of nature and develop their unique relationship to the natural world and specific animal totems. 
  
        Class time includes a varying combination of:

  • guided meditation
  • breath-work
  • mind training
  • guided self-reflection and journal prompts
  • inner-knowing skills development
  • activities and practices from Animal Speak: The Spiritual & Magickal Powers of Creatures Great and Small by Ted Andrews

  Earth Magick: APractice for Earth Based Spirituality
  Follow the Wheel of the Year and attune to the Lunar Cycle

  • students who take personal responsibility for their spiritual practices
  • students who benefit from a loose structure to support their own independent study
  • students looking for a community of practitioners who share similar values around humanity’s place in the natural world
  • students who believe in the power of focused intention as a manifestation tool
  • students who value curiosity, compassion for all, self-education, and the imagination
  • students who enjoy studying, homework and challenging their ideas about themselves and the way the world works
  • students looking for a spiritual community where the natural world guides the course of study
  • students who believe in the great web of life and interconnectedness of all beings

  WHAT:
  An ongoing practice where each class stands alone, but when attended regularlyflows towards specific learning experiences related to a magickal subject ofstudy, including:

        ~Wheel of the Year (SolarCycle)
  
        ~Lunar Cycle
  
        ~The 5 Elements(Earth, Air, Fire, Water, Spirit)

        ~intention setting andspell-casting

        ~creating/using magickal tools

         ~structured independent hyperfocus project

        ~mind training andbreath control

        ~ritual components and creating sacred space

        ~magickal herbs

        ~essential oils formagick

        ~candle magick

        ~personal self-discovery

  Class will meet primarily on Wednesdays between 7:00pm-8:30pm. Spending time in nature is a key component of an Earth Spirituality practice. Occasionally class will meet on a Saturday OR Sunday, for field trips that support the current focus of study. There willl be advance notice for events scheduled on the weekend. 

  Students interested in serious, committed study can choose to participate in the Hive Magick School Initiate Program. Details about the program will be shared at the first class.

   WINTER TERM OBJECTIVES:

  • 2025Personal Intentions and Goals —in addition to personal goals, students will:
    • create a vision board or vision book
    • choose a magickal tool (to make or purchase)
    • choose a divination practice or hyperfocus for the year
    • start a Book of Magick
    • choose a diety/avatar/god/goddess to study and honor
    • choose a magickal name

  • SolarCycle Study: Imbolc Ritual and Dedication Ceremony
  • LunarCycle: 2 new moons, and 2 full moons (Snow Moon/Feb, Worm Moon/March)

  Students committed to a long-term path of study ending in formal initiation into Hive Magick School.
